Robben backs Arsenal to end wait for trophy
BAYERN Munich winger Arjen Robben believes Arsenal are sufficiently equipped to finally end their nine-year trophy drought this season.
Arsenal host Bayern at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their last-16 clash and are also fighting for the Premier League title as well as the FA Cup, having reached the quarter-finals at the weekend.
Robben said: “They haven’t won a title for a few years, but for me they are still a very good team. Last week they beat Liverpool in the FA Cup they are up there in the Premier League and in the Champions League, so I think this year they have a good chance of winning something.”
Meanwhile, manager Pep Guardiola feels Bayern will have to pick their moments carefully to hurt Arsenal tonight.
The former Barcelona boss has failed to win on his previous two visits to north London and is expecting a familiarly testing evening.
Guardiola said: “I have learned you can never dominate 90 minutes against Arsenal.
“With their quality of player a complete 90 minutes is impossible. What happens is you can dominate for certain moments.”
