PwC’s Falafel City man celebrates his chain’s first year this Saturday
Tomorrow is a most auspicious of occasions for one former PwC bean counter. Having spent five years working in the professional services giant, Mitan Sachdev left to start his own restaurant, Falafel City, with his wife, opening on 17 January 2013.
So a year on, how does he feel? “There’s still a long way to go,” he told The Capitalist. “It’s a new industry for me so there’s a steep learning curve.”
It was a lucky break from Land Securities which enabled Sachdev to open his eatery – offering the first timer a space in the O2 Centre, Finchley. Now, with a number of interested parties hoping to help Falafel City open a new unit – Sachdev could be coming home to the Square Mile. Falafel City in the City. “Nothing is set in stone but that’s definitely something we’re hoping to achieve,” he tells us. Fingers crossed for falafel folks.
