JLT Employee Benefits
JLT Employee Benefits, a pension and benefit consultancy, has hired Tony Pike as head of sales for the investment consulting business. Tony joins with a remit to develop JLT’s investment and delegated consulting services to both new and existing JLT clients. Tony joins from Willis Towers Watson where he was head of UK sales and business development within their institutional investment practice. Prior to this, Tony spent six years running the UK sales team at P-Solve, a UK fiduciary manager and investment consultancy. Tony also previously worked for Deloitte and led the northern regional investment practice for Aon Consulting. He brings a wealth of experience gained from his 29-year-career advising clients on the investment aspects of their pension schemes.
Dobbies
Andrew Bracey has been appointed chairman of Dobbies, the UK’s second largest garden centre retailer, headquartered in Scotland. Andrew is a founding partner of Midlothian Capital Partners (MCP) which together with Hattington Capital recently acquired Dobbies from Tesco for £218m on a cash and debt-free basis. Prior to co-founding MCP Andrew had a 24-year career in public companies, private equity and corporate finance. He was chief financial officer of Page Group. Before this, he was CFO at Ocado Group, helping the company through its IPO in 2010, having worked with the Ocado team since its founding in 2000. Before joining Ocado, Andrew was head of Barclays Capital PIA from 2003 to 2008, where he led a number of transactions including Somerfield as well as an investment in Alliance Boots. Andrew also held senior investment banking positions from 1991 to 2003 at UBS and Credit Suisse, where he focused principally on retail advisory.
Kames Capital
Kames Capital has welcomed David Ennett to its high yield bond team and Phil Milburn’s return. David joins Kames as head of high yield from Standard Life Investments where he was head of European high yield and manager of the SLI Higher Income and European High Yield Funds, while Phil returns to the business after a period of ill health, as head of fixed income investment strategy. They will become co-managers on the Kames High Yield Bond and the Kames High Yield Global Bond Funds, with Phil the lead on the former and David on the latter. Stephen Baines remains support manager on both funds.
Centrus Advisors
Treasury and debt advisory business Centrus Advisors has appointed Keith Norman as a senior adviser. Having recently left Lloyds Banking Group following a long and successful corporate banking career, Keith’s focus since 2003 has been on Higher and Further Education and leading Lloyds’ strategic approach to these sectors. Keith played a pivotal role in positioning Lloyds as one of the key financial services suppliers to the UK Education sector.
