Google launch of Dashboard privacy control
GOOGLE has launched a new “dashboard” control panel to help users adjust their privacy settings.
Google Dashboard gives users access to all their Google account privacy controls through a single portal.
The Google Dashboard pulls in all the information stored on Google’s accounts including details of emails, website visits and YouTube videos viewed. It also allows users to easily delete items from their online history.
Google said the dashboard was designed to give people “greater transparency and control” over personal account data stored by Google.
“You can see in one place a summary of the data in all the Google products you use,” Google in a statement. “You can also manage this data and change settings easily and quickly.”
The dashboard gives one-click access to Google services, including recent search history, emails, and attachments and chat conversations.
The web search giant says this gives
“an unprecedented level of visibility and control over that data”.
Google said that it would also mean users could rediscover long-forgotten accounts and decide whether to resurrect them or delete them.
