Dive into the past
Squale is a name from one of the more obscure corners of the Swiss watch industry (the Italian-Swiss bit, as it happens), but the family-owned company has a rich tradition when it comes to making beautiful dive watches in the classic mould. But a recent collaboration with a British retailer has really brought out its classic features.
On a visit to Squale’s traditional workshop, reps from online store Page & Cooper found a stash of unused bezels from the 1960s, which Squale agreed to use for a limited range of new watches. These are delivered in handmade watch rolls made by Savile Row tailor Timothy Everest. The roll also contains a pocket knife made by Joseph Rodgers of Sheffield, manufacturers of the famous Fairbairn-Sykes Commando Knife.
