Aussies spend over a million pounds on Brit cricket gear, more than any other country in the world
Aussies are the biggest buyers of UK cricketing gear, and they're buying more than ever before down under.
Fresh from England's triumphant Ashes win over Australia, new figures reveal the rivals are the biggest buyers of cricket balls and bats and have bought 13 per cent more than the previous year. Exports of British-made goods to the opposite side of the world topped £1m last year.
Perhaps surprisingly, the US were the second biggest export market for the sports goods, followed by Norway and then the United Arab Emirates.
"The UK and Oz are both cricket-mad nations and it’s great to see the Aussies continue to be bowled over by the excellent standard of our sporting equipment," said trade and investment minister Lord Francis Maude.
