Video: Watch Lloyd’s of London’s finest insurance talent tackle the building
Anyone strolling past the famous Lloyd’s of London building today will have another reason to stop and stare other than Richard Rogers' shiny, inside-outy architecture. There are people coming down the side of the building. Lots of them.
Why? Well it’s all in aid of RedR UK, a charity which provides training for disaster relief volunteers and aid workers.
They’re hoping to raise £40,000 pounds today by encouraging employees and related businesspeople to abseil down. Around 120 will have made the daring descent by the end of the day, including JLT partner Chris Harman: “I’m about to go down and I wasn’t worried before but I’ve just been to the tenth floor and looked down and thought, ‘oh dear!’”
We can assure you no brokers were injured in the filming of this clip. Not that we know of anyway.
