Ukrainian protestors forge deal with President Yanukovich

President Viktor Yanukovich and three opposition leaders have signed an agreement that is expected to end the lethal clashes of recent weeks.
The deal should see early elections and other provisions to improve the democratic functioning of the country. Opposition forces and police have met on the streets of Ukraine's capital city, Kiev, seeing at least 77 dead as a result.
A Reuters correspondent said that Yanukovich did not smile during the ceremony, which lasted for several minutes. Two European Union foreign ministers who brokered the deal were present.
Russian representative Vladimir Lukin refused to sign the agreement.
Update: The country’s parliament has just voted to strip Yanukovich of some powers, approving a move to revert to the 2004 constitution.
