Floyd returns with a win
SIX-TIME world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr refused to rule out a match-up with welterweight king Shane Mosley following an impressive comeback win over Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas.
Mayweather, fresh from stretching his unblemished record to 40 fights with a unanimous points victory over Marquez, had a face-off with Mosley during his post-fight interview. Manny Pacquiao, who faces Miguel Cotto in November, is also tipped to face Mayweather next year but the unbeaten American was coy over his plans.
“Shane Mosley’s one hell of a fighter but I’m not scared of Shane Mosley, I’m not scared of any fighter,” he said. “I know I can get better.”
In his first fight after a 21-month retirement, Mayweather floored his opponent in the second round and dominated proceedings with laser-like jabs and slick movement.
