Tui online bookings jump 8pc
Tour operator Tui Travel has said it is confident on delivering a full-year performance in line its target of growth in underlying profit of seven to 10 per cent, according to the company's latest trading update.
Tui saw a strong online performance particularly in Germany and the UK, with online booking up eight per cent and demand for unique holidays remaining strong.
The company is also seeking to improve its new web platforms.
Summer bookings are flat with 45 per cent of the programme sold. Tui's winter trading for 2013/14 closed as expected.
Peter Long, chief executive of TUI, commented:
We are pleased with trading during the Winter 2013/14 season, with most of our programmes now almost fully sold. We have once again successfully demonstrated the flexibility and resilience of our business model enabling us to absorb the impacts of geopolitical events more effectively, including the ongoing turbulent political situation in Egypt.
