Taylor Wessing bolsters financial disputes group with BLG poach
CITY law firm Taylor Wessing has bolstered its financial disputes practice after poaching Barlow Lyde & Gilbert’s (BLG) head of financial services.
Tim Strong, who has led BLG’s financial services practice since October last year, will join Taylor Wessing within the coming months after more than a decade with the insurance-based firm.
His departure from BLG is one of a number of exits by partners from the financial services practice within the last year after regulation expert Ian Mason recently left for Baker & McKenzie.
Strong will join Taylor Wessing’s City base and the firm’s 104-partner commercial disputes group.
Shane Gleghorn at Taylor Wessing said Strong’s reputation of acting in significant financial disputes and regulation investigations will help the firm in its strategy to grow the practice.
Strong recently advised a private equity house on a £250m dispute with lenders over the acquisition financing for a stake in a European bank.
BLG’s senior partner Simon Konsta said he hoped it “all goes well for Tim at Taylor Wessing”.
