Inflation pressures ease in Germany
Producer price inflation in Germany unexpectedly eased in March, down to an annualised rate of 6.2 per cent, from February’s peak of 6.4 per cent. However, compared to February producer prices were up 0.4 per cent. Consumer goods prices grew by 0.3 per cent on the month, the highest rate for consumer goods since September 2008. Fuel-driven costs were the main factors behind the inflation, along with mining.
