Here comes the sun: Parts of England hotter than Cyprus today
Summer is officially here.
Parts of England will be warmer than Cyprus today, official forecasts suggest.
Temperatures are expected to reach 20 * C in London, the Midlands and the north east, according to the Met Office.

The warm weather is being caused by high pressure and warmer air coming in from the Continent, although that is also driving air pollution levels up to “high or very high”.

The good news is this burst of sun is expected to last until at least the weekend, when Sunday could see some rain.
In fact, the Met Office has warned that the sun is as strong now as it is in September, and to ensure “you and your loved ones enjoy the sunshine safely”.
