Flight Options out of business
Budget travel firm Flight Options ceased trading last night, affecting more than 70,000 holidaymakers who had trips booked with the firm. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that approximately 13,000 Britons abroad through the company, mostly through its biggest flight operator Kiss Flights, will get home as normal. Those with Flight Options bookings up to 6pm today will still be able to leave, after which time other operators will step in, according to the CAA. The company operated flights to Greece, Egypt, Turkey and the Canary Islands, and is the third budget travel firm to go bust in the last month. The demise of Goldtrail and Sun4U has left hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers out of pocket until Atol refunds arrive.
