Double dip hits household funds
Over one million more households in Britain say they are struggling to pay the bills than at the start of the double dip recession eight months ago, according to Legal and General’s MoneyMood survey published yesterday. There has also been a fall in the number of financially “stable” homes – those who say they have some money left over at the end of the month after paying bills and debts – to just four in ten, the lowest level since the coalition came to power. Now 3.3m say they spend more on bills and debts than they earn, up from 2.1m in September.
