BG executive director steps down
BG group announced on Tuesday that executive director and chief operating officer, Martin Houston, has stepped down from the board and group executive committee with immediate effect. Mr Houston will retire from the oil and gas company by 31 December 2014.
Executive vice president operations, Sami Iskander will take over the role of chief operating officer with immediate effect.
Commenting on the announcement, chairman of the group, Andrew Gould, said:
The Board and I would like to sincerely thank Martin for his outstanding contribution to BG Group, and its predecessor companies, over the last 30 years. He was one of the principal architects of the Group's LNG and shipping business during the formative years. We have benefited greatly from Martin's support and the value that he has added to the Group.
