Uber extends London service with wheelchair-accessible vehicles
Uber has launched its first wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAV) option in London.
Since 4pm today, wheelchair users have been able to request the vehicles through the new uberWAV option on the app.
In its announcement, Uber said one in four Tube stations are wheelchair-accessible and the uberWAVs are on average 30 per cent cheaper than a black cab.

The development was supported by Scope, Whizz-Kidz and Transport for All.
Uber said it is investing more than £1m in the first 18 months to help it succeed.
The vehicles are equipped with a rear-entry ramp, winch and restraints.
Wheelchair users are able to ride along with one additional passenger in the cars.

Uber said average waiting times are expected to be around 25 minutes in zones one and two and 40 minutes in zones three and four.
