Trinity Mirror earnings rise
A SHARP rise in the number of digital users saw better-than-expected results for publishing group Trinity Mirror.
The firm, which owns a string of national and local publications in the UK, reported in its first-half results yesterday that its number of online users had grown by 37 per cent across its publishing operations.
Coupled with the driving down of costs, this boosted adjusted pre-tax profits to £49m, a rise of 2.5 per cent. Revenues fell 8.5 per cent to £332m, hit by falling print circulation.
