Spurs fans say no to Stratford move
More than 500 angry Tottenham fans protested against the club’s proposed move to the Olympic site at Stratford ahead of yesterday’s match against Manchester United.
Fans gathered on Bill Nicholson Way and vented their frustration, while a banner reading “Say No To Stratford” was passed around inside the stadium during the game.
Spurs and West Ham are vying for the lease of the site, with the bid winner set to be announced by the Olympic Park Legacy Company on 28 January.
PR guru, Mike Lee, the man assisting Tottenham’s bid, said yesterday that if the decision were to go in West Ham’s favour, the OPLC would run the risk of turning the stadium into a ‘white elephant’.
