Over half of female workers have experienced stress or depression since pandemic
55 percent of female finance workers have suffered stress, anxiety or depression since the pandemic, according to new data shared d with City A.M. today.
This compares to 39 percent of male workers, while the data showed that 52 per cent of females felt confident talking about this to their manager at work, compared with 59 percent of males.
“Women in our profession appear more stressed and more women have worked longer hours than their male counterparts,” said Simon Culhane, CEO of CISI.
“Working from home for women can be a two-edged sword, as many may still be undertaking wider home and, for those with children, added family responsibilities, particularly regarding home schooling for children,” he added.
He concluded that working from home creates a blurred work-life balance and that longer hours will always affect the mentality of workers..
The CISI survey, undertaken this year from May-June, received almost 5,000 responses from the professional body’s global membership.
The CISI membership encompasses those working in wealth management, financial planning and capital markets.
