Moss Bros sales smarten up as eveningwear season kicks-off
SUIT-seller Moss Bross enjoyed a bounceback in hire sales in the first weeks of the second half as it recovered from a subdued wedding season in the first part of the year.
Like-for-like sales rose 5.3 per cent in the first 19 weeks to 7 December, the retailer said yesterday, as hire sales stabilised and the group moved into the eveningwear season.
“We are encouraged by the trading momentum throughout the business which has continued into the second half of this year and we enter the important Christmas trading period in good shape,” chief executive Brian Bick said.
Like for like sales for the 45 weeks to 7 December rose 2.2 per cent and total sales during that time period increased by 1.8 per cent.
