Miliband poll ratings slump to record low
LABOUR leader Ed Miliband yesterday saw his personal popularity slump to its lowest-ever level, amid mounting criticism of his performance with just over 18 months to go until the next general election.
Six out of 10 people surveyed by Ipsos MORI said they were not satisfied with Miliband’s performance – equivalent to the ratings endured by former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith shortly before he was deposed.
Labour’s lead over the Conservatives in national voting intention has fallen to just three points.
“There has been much discussion over the perceived softness of Labour’s lead, and this poll shows that clearly,” said Ipsos MORI’s Gideon Skinner;
Yesterday’s poll shows the public prefer David Cameron’s personality to Miliband. They also believe Cameron is a more capable leader who is better at dealing with crises.
