Loyd Grossman shows his green credentials
PROVING he’s passionate about more than just sauces and peeking through keyholes of the rich and famous, Loyd Grossman last night hosted the City of London Corporation’s 2015 Sustainable City Awards at Mansion House.
The 14th annual “Green Oscars” highlighted the importance of sustainable investment in the fortunes of UK cities. And although the award was open for nationwide entries, 85 per cent came from London.
The big winners last night were for projects focused on regenerating the capital. Property developer Argent took the top award for its role in the regeneration of the Kings Cross area, while the business improvement district Inmidtown was also recognised for its transformation of Holborn, Bloomsbury and St Giles London.
Grossman, who is also commissioner of English Heritage and chairman of the Churches Conservation Trust, said; “The awards do a great job in highlighting the different, creative ways in which issues of sustainability can be addressed and solved in the context of our urban lives.
“They also play a role in providing great sustainability examples, not just for us in the UK, but for those around the world.”
