Londoners hit record number
LONDON’s population is forecast to reach record levels this year according to figures from the Greater London Authority.
The Greater London population is expected to surpass 8.669m which would be sufficient to take it over levels not seen since 1939 when the population peaked at 8.615m. London’s population declined in the post-war decades. Barney Stringer of Quod planning consultants believes the population record could be broken as early as today.
