  • Montgomerie, 26, dies after fall

    HORSE RACING: Jockey Simone Montgomerie has died after falling from Riahgrand at the Darwin Cup in Australia’s Northern territory. The accident occurred in the home straight during the final furlong of the Lightning Plate, the sixth race on the card, when her mount appeared to jink and unseat the 26-year-old mother of two.
