Knightsbridge balcony collapse: Two men die in London’s exclusive Cadogan Square

Two men have died after a balcony collapsed on one of London's most expensive – and exclusive – streets. 

 

The incident took place at Cadogan Square in Knightsbridge this morning. One man died at the scene, while a second, who was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital as a priority, died shortly afterwards. 

 

Six other people had minor injuries.

 

Three ambulances, the London Air Ambulance and the LAS Hazardous Area Response Team  started dealing with the emergency at around 10am. London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police also attended. 

 

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Every effort was made to resuscitate a patient but sadly a man died at the scene. 

 

“Another man was taken to St Mary’s Hospital as a priority.

 

“Six patients were treated for minor injuries but did not need to go to hospital.”

 

Met Police confirmed the second fatality.

Cadogan Square is one of the most expensive residential streets in the UK, with an average house price of around £5.75m.

However, the identities of the people involved have not been disclosed.
