It’s end to end stuff for Sarver’s reputation at the Phoenix Suns

ROBERT Sarver had seen his basketball team reach the end of season play-offs five times in his first six seasons as owner, between 2005-2011.
But a fallow period that followed saw him develop a reputation as a cheapskate among some fans.
Dave King, the managing editor of fansite Bright Side of the Sun, said that following initial success under Sarver’s ownership, Phoenix Suns’ fans have seen star players leave and performances suffer.
“A number of other signings and trades were terrible in the 2007- 2012 years that ultimately caused the team’s down-swing,” King said.
Yet he argued while Sarver was not popular, “he’s not as hated as he once was either.”
Now, said King, after investment in better equipment, facilities, training staff, player development coaches and player support, “the organisation is top notch”.
