Hublot x Sang Bleu: The £30,000 watch
From East London’s most pioneering tattoo studio and friend of Mr. Jean-Claude Biver, Sang Bleu have once again partnered with iconic watch label Hublot. Maxime Büchi, a.k.a. Sang Bleu uses his trademark intricate patterns and geometric style to create unorthodox watches for Hublot.
Inspired by Leonardo Di Vinci’s Vitruvian Man in its accurate use of lines and symmetry, Sang Bleu has replaced classic watch hands and chosen three discs to represent the different units of time.
Limited to 200 pieces, the Big Bang Sang Bleu is made with solid titanium, features 388 diamonds, a 45mm case and is finished with a black calfskin strap.
With unconventional watches on the rise and controversial celebrity faces to match, watchmakers are going against the grain to appeal to a wider audience and there has never been a better time to move the dial on tradition.
