Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green lives up to its name with a rise in sales
Liam Gallagher may not be at the top of the charts at the moment but he has proven he can sell clothes, with total sales in his clothing brand Pretty Green up 39 per cent in the six weeks to 31 December.
Gallagher set up the Mod-style brand in 2009 and its latest results were published yesterday in conjunction with its A/W 15 catwalk presentation, which took place in the Hospital Club as part of menswear fashion event, London Collections: Men.
Pretty Green, which is also a term for money, reported a 33 per cent rise in sales on a like-for-like basis, a wholesale revenue increase of 37 per cent and an international sales rise of 12 per cent.
“We are particularly pleased with our record performance over the Christmas period, but also for the whole first quarter of this financial year,” said chief executive Richard Ralph. “We have seen positive trading across all our channels to market continue over the entire three month period, with record sales in the last six weeks to the end of December.”
Pretty Green opened two new stores in London in December and announced the launch of six concessions in House of Fraser. The brand is also particularly popular in Japan, where it has five stores.
