FSA salary up 22pc in five years
Salaries at the Financial Services Authority (FSA) have risen 22 per cent over the past five years, new figures reveal. Britain’s financial watchdog has paid the higher wages in order to increase the quality and quantity of its supervisors and enforcers, as pressure to adequately supervise the City intensifies. Data released by the FSA shows the average salary for the year ending March 2010 at the watchdog was £51,232 – up six per cent from a year earlier. Senior management gained an increase of 14 per cent from £206,391 in 2005-06 to £236,950 in 2009-10.
