Ex-Zeus and Threadneedle bosses re-emerge with advisory outfit
TWO LEADING advisory figures from the small cap business world have joined forces to launch a new venture offering public affairs advice to junior market-listed firms.
Tim Metcalfe, former co-chief executive of Zeus Capital, and Threadneedle Communications founder Graham Herring have put up cash to found City-based Investor Focus Communications (IFC), which will offer advice to junior market listed boards on liaising with shareholders and the press.
Metcalfe, an alumni of Rothschild and Robert Fleming, left Zeus in November having helped the firm build up its London presence. Last year he helped it raise £1bn, including the flotation of MySale.
“The financial communications industry for small and mid cap companies has changed materially over the last five years,” he said.
“Plcs are demanding a more advice led approach with a genuine focus on communicating strengths to both institutional and high net worth and retail investors.”
Herring is best known for founding Threadneedle Communications, which was merged in 2011 by Porta Communications to become Newgate Threadneedle, one of the larger PR firms in the mid and small cap sector.
