Employers to stop staff watching England game
MOST company bosses in London are not planning to allow their staff to watch England’s crucial World Cup clash against Slovenia tomorrow, despite warnings of mass “sickies” if employees are forced to stay behind their desks.
A survey by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday revealed that 62 per cent of employers do not plan to make any special provisions for the team’s vital third match of the tournament, which will be screened in office hours at 3pm.
Of the remainder, 13 per cent said they would screen the game at work, 12 per cent will allow people to leave the office, and 12 per cent will allow employees to watch the match on their computers.
