Construction up in Eurozone
Eurostat figures yesterday showed growth of 1.4 per cent month-on-month in the Eurozone construction sector. That compares to a decline in output of 1.3 per cent over June. Fluctuations in output over the year mean the construction sector expanded by 1.2 per cent over the year to July. The picture was even less rosy in the EU as a whole: construction across the 27 member nations increased by just 0.2 per cent in the twelve months to July. On an annual basis Poland, Romania and Spain improved most, at 17.4 per cent, 14.4 per cent and 12.5 per cent respectively.
