Ardian
Olivier Piani (pictured) has joined the real estate arm of independent private investment company Ardian as senior adviser and chairman of its investment committee. He joins from Allianz Real Estate where he was chief executive since 2008. Olivier has also been chief exec at GE Capital Real Estate Europe, chief exec of UIC-Sofal and deputy head of real estate restructuring at Paribas Group. In his new role, Olivier will help Ardian build up its real estate arm, which was recently launched in September 2015, the company said.
Baring Asset Management
Baring Asset Management (Barings), the international investment firm, has appointed Darryl Lucas to the position of global equity income investment manager. Darryl is based in London and reports to Marino Valensise. He joins Barings from Sarasin & Partners, where he was most recently head of equity income and a fund manager across a range of dividend mandates. Previously Darryl was a credit analyst at ABN AMRO Asset Management; he has also worked as an analyst of financial markets at the Bank of England. Ken Lambden, chief investment officer at Barings, said: “Darryl is an experienced global equity income investor and his skill set will complement our existing income capabilities. We are committed to being positioned for the future needs of our clients”
JP Morgan
Nick Malangone has joined JP Morgan Asset Management as its London-based executive director and insurance portfolio manager in the multi asset solutions team. He will be responsible for overseeing more than $170bn (£119bn) in assets globally. Nick was previously insurance asset management portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and before that he was an institutional investment development executive at Aviva Investors and a fixed income analyst at Morgan Stanley. James Elliot, chief investment officer EMEA in the multi asset solutions group, said: “Nick is a seasoned investor with a proven track record. Applying a customised insurance investing lens, he will tap into our broad multi asset investment capabilities.”
