David Ferbrache has joined KPMG as a technical director to enhance the capabilities of the firm’s growing cyber security practice. Prior to working for KPMG, David was the head of cyber & space at the Ministry of Defence. He will lead the development of future cyber security services and advise KPMG’s key clients on how best to defend against the most sophisticated cyber threats. KPMG’s cyber security practice has also announced the promotion of Bia Bedri to partner specialising in financial services. The group has also promoted Ruth Anderson, Alejandro Rivas-Vasquez and George Scott as directors in the cyber security practice.
Equilibrium Asset Management has added three members of staff to its ranks. Matthew Wincott and Kai Ansari join the Cheshire-headquartered wealth management firm as client managers, while Phoebe Benta starts as an events coordinator. Matthew is a former analyst with nine years’ financial management experience and joins Risk & Reward consulting. He is a specialist in the areas of inheritance tax planning and pensions. Kai has two years’ experience working in funds and investment and joins from financial and business consultancy threesixty services LLP. Having worked on a wide range of events from the Tour de France Grand Depart to weddings and conferences, Phoebe moves to from a role at Mottram Hall.
Gem Diamonds has announced the appointment of Michael Lynch-Bell as an independent non-executive director. Michael spent 38 years Ernst & Young, leading its global oil & gas, UK IPO and global oil & gas and mining transaction advisory practices. He was a member of the assurance practice from 1974 to 1996 when he transferred to the transaction advisory practice. Michael is currently senior independent non-executive director and audit committee chair at Kaz Minerals, as well as a host of other positions.
LOWELL AND GFKL GROUP
Lowell and GFKL has appointed Heinz Hilgert as its new group chair and Christopher Trepel as group chief science officer. Heinz was formerly CEO of WestLB and deputy CEO of DZ Bank. Christopher joins as group chief science officer from Fenway Summer LLC, a Washington, DC-based financial services investment firm, where he serves as an operating partner in Fenway Summer’s venture capital fund. He previously held the post of senior vice president and chief scientific officer at Encore Capital Group.
