Cash flows in at National Express
Transport group National Express beat its goals for free cash flow in 2013, the firm said yesterday, as pre-tax profits fell to £143.7m as expected due to the loss of the East Anglia franchise in 2012. The bus and rail firm posted free cash flow of £182.8m, more than £30m ahead of targets, which helped to pay down debt and fund expansion. Revenues rose 3.3 per cent to £1.89bn, helped by the company’s debut in the German rail market.
