Professional bean-counting company PwC has appointed its youngest partner of 2013 this week. Thirty-one-year-old technology whizz Umang Paw (pictured) has been hired to head up the firm’s information governance and e-disclosure business. But Paw tells The Capitalist that a City career didn’t always beckon – his parents wanted him to be a dentist and while studying at City University he worked as a wedding photographer. So does he still snap professionally? “I gave it up couple of years ago – except as a favour for family.”
The premiere of film The Lady in No6 – Music Saved My Life, produced by former Beazley Group executive Chris Branch, was held in the West End on Tuesday evening. The short film tells the story of Alice Herz Sommer, who is the oldest living holocaust survivor, and, at 109 years old, also the world’s oldest pianist. So is Branch leaving the world of insurance for the Hollywood Hills? He is on gardening leave from Beazley but tells The Capitalist that he does intend to make a comeback to insurance, despite this being the fifth film project under his belt.
