Apple iPad Pro UK release date 2015 and price: When will iPad Pro go on sale and how much will it cost? The new 12.9-inch iPad will launch in 40 countries on Wednesday 11 November
Apple fans, start your engines: the US tech giant has just announced the launch date of its monster, 12.9-inch iPad Pro. And you've only got a couple of days to wait…
In a statement today the company said the iPad Pro will go on sale in stores and be available to order in 40 countries – including the UK, US, China and Japan – from Wednesday 11 November. Yep – that's the day after tomorrow.
The 12.9-inch display of the iPad pro comes with 5.6 million pixels, which Apple said is the "most ever" for an iOS device.
It will be powered with a 64-bit A9X chip, and – crucially – come with an "all-day 10-hour" battery life (we could argue with the semantics of that but won't…).
It'll also come with the controversial "Apple Pencil", which "makes drawing and sketching feel remarkably fluid and natural", said the company.
Starting at £679 for the 32GB edition, which only works on wifi, it doesn't come cheap. The Apple Pencil, meanwhile, will be sold separately, at an eye-watering £79.
“The early response to iPad Pro from app developers and our customers has been incredible, and we’re excited to get iPad Pro into the hands of customers around the world this week,” enthused Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing.
“iPad Pro is the most powerful iPad we’ve ever made, giving users the ability to be even more creative and more productive…. we can’t wait to see what they do with iPad Pro.”
The countries it will be available in from Wednesday will be (deep breath): Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greenland, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, UAE, US, UK, Uruguay and the US Virgin Islands.
