What do industry insiders make of the record breaking net retail fund sales announced yesterday?
John Yule | Fund Manager, F&C
It’s great to see an influx of money into all sectors. A lot of this has been driven by IFAs, which is very good news for the industry. The growth in absolute return funds has interested me – it’s encouraging to see a new asset class performing well. It shows investors are looking for an asset class that targets a specific return.
PETER MCGAHAN | IFA, WORLDWIDE FINANCIAL PLANNING
These results are not surprising. People haven’t been using insured life funds. They have realised investment trusts are a much more tax efficient way to invest their money. The returns on cash are zero so people are looking for ways to make their money work for them. Now is a great time to invest and people are taking advantage.
