US markets rip higher on open – Dow hits record high of 16,000
US equities are soaring on open, with the Dow hitting 16,000 (a record high) and the S&P 500 reaching 1,800.
That follows record highs for Germany's Dax and world shares reaching their highest levels since January 2008.
