United fans share tickets
ONE in eight Manchester United fans plan on sharing season tickets this season, a new survey by Virgin Money has revealed.
The club has so far failed to sell its quota of season tickets for the year. A sustained campaign by fans unhappy with the club’s ownership by the Glazer family has also hit sales.
Fans led by the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust are furious the American family has saddled the previously-debt free club with in excess of £700m of debts.
However, Manchester United are not the only club facing a problem with fans sharing season tickets, with supporters of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham completing the top four.
Blackpool fans are the least likely to double up on tickets, with just two per cent saying they would do it.
