Tsonga next for champ Murray
WORLD No6 Andy Murray must overcome France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in tomorrow’s Sony Open fourth round to continue the defence of his title in Miami.
Murray last week split with coach Ivan Lendl, but the eighttime grand slam champion watched from the Scot’s box as he took just 73 minutes to defeat Feliciano Lopez 6-4, 6-1 yesterday.
The 26-year-old broke Lopez’s serve in the first game, but the Spaniard immediately broke back. Murray took the initiative back at 3-2 then served out the set, before racing to victory in the second.
Tsonga saw off wildcard entry Marcos Baghdatis 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 in round three and now bids to end his seven-match losing streak against Murray.
