Sunday Times to launch website
The Sunday Times newspaper will set up its own website, the company said yesterday, adding that it may charge readers for access to its articles. The paper currently shares a website with its sister title, The Times. The launch would mark the first time a Sunday paper has set up its own site. Rupert Murdoch, who owns the titles, said in May that he was investigating different pay models for his UK papers’ websites. There has been no launch-date confirmed for the website, and no confirmation of whether its would be free, paid-for or a hybrid model. It is recruiting staff to join the website.
