Who works in the Shard? From Tiffany’s to the Shangri-La, here’s a storey-by-storey breakdown of every business, hotel and restaurant in London’s tallest building
Ever walked past the Shard and wondered what's going on inside that glassy exterior?
Well, wonder no more – we've broken down every business, restaurant and hotel (not to mention those viewing desk) to show you the composition of western Europe's tallest building. Soaring 1,016ft into the sky, and at a cost of £1.5bn to develop, it's also one of Europe's most expensive developments.
Jeweller Tiffany's is one of the latest signings, on level seven, while on the 52nd storey, customers of the Shangri-La hotel can enjoy stunning views of London while floating in its infinity pool. Further up, the lucky owners – or renters – of the building's 10 residences are experiencing the highest life in Europe: the penthouse on levels 64 and 65 is the second highest home in Europe.
The Shard was launched amid much pomp and ceremony (aka "a laser show") in 2012. A year after it opened, lettings were slow, with more than half of its office floors still empty. But things are picking up: earlier this year, it made more than 60,000 sq ft of office lettings.
