Shard’s smoke is a mystery
THE SHARD had its second brush with death in as many weeks yesterday, as smoke caused the building to be evacuated exactly two weeks after it was struck by fork lightning.
Fire trucks rushed to the scene and 900 people were forced to line the streets as the source was investigated but the threat didn’t last for long and they were soon allowed back in.
The London Fire Brigade told The Capitalist that the scene had been examined but the findings were inconclusive.
“We’ve left the issue in the hands of the Shard’s management,” a brigade spokesperson told us.
Sizable inconvenience it was, towering inferno it thankfully was not.
