Renault ousts execs over espionage claim
FRENCH carmaker Renault has suspended three executives for suspected industrial espionage thought to be the leaking of company secrets, it admitted yesterday.
Three top staff members are believed to have shared confidential information about the new electric vehicles Renault is developing, according to sources close to the situation.
The suspended managers, which are understood to have left their positions on Monday, had all headed electric vehicles projects and one was a member of the company’s management committee, sources said.
A Renault spokeswoman confirmed that the suspensions followed an internal investigation that has been running for several months.
