Red Arrows to launch Games
THE RED Arrows will fly across Britain on the day of the London 2012 opening ceremony to symbolically link key sites, Olympics organisers confirmed yesterday.
The aerobatic team is to perform a nine-ship display over official live sites in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and the capital as a curtain-raiser to the Games, which begin on 27 July.
It comes as London 2012 chiefs marked yesterday’s 100 days to go milestone by announcing the event’s motto, “Inspire a generation”.
The slogan will feature on branding and publications in the lead-up to and during the Games.
