QPR forced to wait as FA delay Faurlin case verdict
QUEENS PARK RANGERS’ promotion bid descended into farce last night when the Football Association delayed a verdict from the Alejandro Faurlin hearing.
QPR had expected to hear by this afternoon whether they had been found guilty and might therefore have points deducted, jeopardising their place at the top of the Championship. But the FA’s commission has delayed its decision, meaning it looks unlikely to be delivered before the club’s final game of the season, against Leeds tomorrow afternoon at Loftus Road.
League officials had planned to present QPR with the trophy after the match, but that has now been plunged into doubt. QPR are tipped to lose points if found guilty of breaking FA rules involving third party ownership when they signed Faurlin in 2009.
