    RUGBY UNION: Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder has agreed a five-year contract extension with the Aviva Premiership champions. Following his appointment in 2007, Mallinder guided Saints to promotion from the Championship and has since secured one LV= Cup and two Amlin Challenge Cups.
