Pantsil’s present keeps Dalglish’s winning run going
LIVERPOOL’S recovery under Kenny Dalglish gathered further momentum last night as John Pantsil’s own goal gifted the Reds a 1-0 win over Fulham at Anfield.
The three points moved the Merseysiders up into seventh in the Premier League table, their highest position of the season, and victory secured back-to-back wins for the first time since November.
Although Fulham missed the best opportunity of the first-half through Moussa Dembele, they should have been behind as early as the sixth minute when Fernando Torres had a goal harshly ruled out for offside.
The decisive goal arrived seven minutes after half-time when Torres’ deflected shot came off the post and in the scramble that ensued, Pantsil panicked and sliced the ball beyond David Stockdale and into his own net.
